Wear a woolly hat appeal

Wear a woolly hat and show that you care

In November, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the television soap opera, “Crossroads” (from which we take our name), by launching our Wear a woolly hat appeal to raise funds and support the incredible work that unpaid carers do.

At some point during the week of Saturday 2nd November to Friday 8th November, simply make a donation and send us a photo of yourself, family, friends or colleagues wearing their woolly hats.

Don’t forget to share on social media and tag us too!

Help us support unpaid carers in your community

As a business, participating in this initiative is a fun way to display corporate social responsibility. For parents, school teachers, church leaders or community group leaders, this is a perfect opportunity to introduce young people to a future where caring for one another is highly valued by the local community. It also allows them to make a positive difference by fundraising and having fun at the same time.

Don’t forget to send in your photos!

The reason behind the woolly hat

So, what does wearing a woolly hat have to do with supporting unpaid carers?

Our charity, Crossroads Care Surrey, takes its name from the British soap opera “Crossroads”, where the character Meg Richardson cared for her disabled son, Sandy, at home. In November, we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the very first episode of “Crossroads”, and we would like to mark this milestone. The woolly hat is inspired by Benny, a character from the show known for always wearing one, making it a fitting tribute to our roots.

By wearing a woolly hat at any point during this week, you show your support and appreciation for unpaid carers across Surrey. By donating using one of the methods below, you help Crossroads Care Surrey assist even more unpaid carers who are struggling to care for a loved one in need.
