Who we care for

We care for adults and children of all ages with physical, mental and emotional healthcare concerns.

We are passionate and dedicated to supporting individuals who provide care and support to a family member, friend or neighbour who is ill, disabled or elderly, without receiving financial compensation.

While an unpaid carer’s role is crucial in maintaining the well-being of those they care for, it is fraught with numerous challenges.

Unpaid carers frequently face significant emotional, physical and financial burdens:

The journey of an unpaid carer is often difficult and isolating. The lack of formal support and recognition can make carers feel undervalued and overwhelmed. Social isolation is common, as the demands of caregiving leave little time for personal relationships and leisure activities. Additionally, navigating healthcare system and co-ordinating medical care can be complex and frustrating.

Despite these challenges, many unpaid carers continue their roles out of love and a sense of duty, often longing for better resources and support. Their resilience and dedication are admirable, yet their journey underscores the need for greater societal recognition and support systems to alleviate their burdens.

At Crossroads Care Surrey, our hearts are open to all who seek help. We provide unwavering support to adults and children of all ages, no matter the physical, mental or emotional challenges they face.

Our compassionate carer support workers are dedicated to assisting individuals with a wide range of conditions, such as dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, autism and more. Yet, we know that unpaid carers in Surrey often support loved ones with an even broader spectrum of medical conditions and disabilities. Whether it’s a physical disability, brain injury, learning difficulties, or simply the challenges of daily life that prevent someone from living independently, we are here to provide the care and assistance they need.

We are devoted to supporting unpaid carers, but our impact extends far beyond. Every act of care, every moment of respite, reaches deep into the lives of those cared for, offering relief and hope. Our mission is to ensure that no carer and no person in need, ever feels alone. 60% of carers have a health condition which puts even more pressure, stress and extra challenges on them. We are here for you, and for them, with open hearts and helping hands.

The session may include an opportunity to visit community settings like the local park.

I am most grateful for a three-and-a-half hours per week of respite, which enables me to recap my energy, relax and enjoy myself. It is a grateful pleasure to welcome our carer each week – for both me and my husband.
