Companionship in the Home
Carers we help need support with their loved ones at various stages of care giving. Can you help give someone with care needs time, by just being a companion and helping with simple care tasks for a few hours each week? You will engage the cared-for person in conversation or activities such as puzzles, games, crosswords, soduku, garden centre visits and coffee shop trips.
Befriending by Phone
Could you support people who care for loved ones with companionship during respite? We’re looking for volunteers who understand how caring can impact people’s lives; someone who will take time out to listen, understand and be a friend for carers who simply need a break. Caring can be exhausting and socially isolating – could you give our Carers your time by providing telephone or
video call befriending support?
Community Shopping Support
Throughout Covid-19 we have been supporting carers, their loved ones and vulnerable or at-risk people who have been shielding because of age or illness with essential food shopping, prescription medication collections and more. From our research, we know the shopping service has made an impact, benefiting people who really do need to continue to rely on our support going forward – can you be part of making a difference to someone’s life?
