Partnership working across the county of Surrey brings together separate organisations with a common cause – support for unpaid carers.
Working together means we’re stronger and able to do more for our common cause, benefitting from pooled expertise, resources and more. The goal of a partnership is to enhance the efficiency and quality of service provision which will ultimately benefit those who need our service the most.
Below we list just some of the amazing organisations we are working with including a little information and a link to their website. If you would like to find out more about working together to support carers locally, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Action for Carers Surrey
We work closely with Action for Carers Surrey to ensure the Carers we’re helping by lending a hand with care can access the information they need to make the most of their respite time. Action for Carers Surrey support carers of all ages, right across Surrey, with information, support and advice.
The charity can support you by phone, through face-to-face meetings, support groups and workshops helping with benefits advice, advocacy, giving practical guidance on moving and handling, and provide a wealth of information and free resources. They can also signpost you, and the person you care for, on to relevant further sources of support.
The charity also help carers have their say on caring matters in Surrey, and beyond, working with the NHS, Surrey County Council, and influencing government.
Action for Carers Surrey have specialist support too. If you’re a young carer (aged under 18), the Surrey Young Carers Team offers free information and support, plus workshops, activities and groups, to give young carers time out from caring and help you achieve as much as you can in life. The Young Adult Carers Team (for 18-25s) similarly helps younger adults as they finish school, start work or college and think about leaving home. The charity also have tailored support for people connected to the armed forces.
