On Friday 30th June, we held our very first I’m a Director, Get Me Out of Here! charity fundraiser.
The event involved 14 directors from local Surrey organisations going head-to-head to see who would be crowned the ‘caring King or Queen of Surrey’.
During the day, they faced various ‘bushtucker’ trials – including reptile handling and eating some rather unpleasant things – all in return for sponsorship.
All of this took place at the aptly named ‘Home of Compassion’ care home, operated by Aria Care.
At the time of writing, over £21,000 has been raised from this event to help us support the ever-growing number of unpaid carers in Surrey who are caring for a loved-one in need.
Such was the success of this event, that we will be proudly staging it again in 2024! Please stay tuned for further details.
