Please give an exhausted unpaid carer the Gift of Time

Could you help us provide respite time for them?

We know that, for unpaid carers, the work does not stop for a break for Christmas and the festive season. Full-time carers especially have need of the Gift of Time to provide a short break without having to worry about the person they care for.

Our recent carers survey reveals that 6 in 10 carers would like more help to look after their own health and wellbeing. Finding time for self-care is vitally important for carers that are feeling exhausted.

The survey also reveals that 7 in 10 carers often feel lonely in their caring role and would appreciate time to socialise. View full survey results here.  It is for this reason that we are asking you to consider making a donation so we can support more carers by providing respite breaks for them throughout the year.

Carers deserve time to:

  • have a rest or catch up on any sleep that has been missed due to their caring role
  • catch up with friends over coffee or a meal
  • be part of community activities and neighbourhood events
  • take part in leisure activities
  • go to health or self-care appointments such as dental appointments, attending a doctors appointment, counselling, having a vaccination or a hair cut
  • go to a business or legal appointment, or to visit a bank or building society
  • take part in other activities that they cannot normally attend whilst caring for someone full time.

Please help us support tired carers by providing respite breaks

A donation of £25 will allow us to provide a one hour break for a carer to catch up on vital rest, attend an appointment, see a friend or run local errands

A donation of £150 will allow us to provide a longer 6 hour respite break, providing an unpaid carer with the opportunity for a well-deserved longer break, or perhaps to visit friends who are further afield,  a leisure venue or to take part in a favourite sport or leisure activity?
