Following on from the PM’s announcement on 19th December stating the majority of Surrey would be entering a new more regional Tier 4 restrictive period to stay safe during this period of increased cases of Covid-19, the charity Crossroads Care Surrey will remain open for business delivering frontline care for those who need vital help with care.
Since the first lockdown, the health and care sector have now learned more about Coronavirus and because of these learnings, particularly around the need to find a balance between keeping people safe and protecting mental health & wellbeing, the charity say they will continue to provide visiting care.
All employees are trained in infection control and are provided with the highest quality personal protection equipment (PPE). The charity has promised to also provide a different kind of care support with befriending & community outreach (shopping and prescription collections). This will support carers, cared for loved ones and those vulnerable or at-risk living on their own.
“Following on from the first Covid19 lockdown, we surveyed those we have helped during the year. Our findings revealed 9 in every 10 carers had concerns about the long-term effect of Covid19 on both their physical and emotional health. It is important we can continue to keep helping those who need us most during this difficult period”
