At Crossroads we need your help year round

Our volunteers are heroes who help to make a difference to the lives of carers

We truly appreciate the commitment every volunteer makes to help us realise our vision for every carer to be recognised, supported and offered services to help them maintain their own health and well-being.

Whether you give your precious time to work directly with the people we support, volunteer your skills, or fundraise. It doesn’t matter whether you give a little or a lot, what matters is you care.  On behalf of those we care for and their carers who deserve a break from caring, thank you for considering a volunteer role with us.

Because of you, carers can keep caring.

Make a difference on your doorstep

Care & Companionship Befriender in the home – Can you give help to someone who cares round the clock to have time away from caring by being a friend for their cared for loved one?  Carers we work with need vital time away to look after themselves so they can keep caring for the long term. Sometimes, just popping to the shops can be difficult when the person cared for cannot be left alone. You will also help with basic care giving responsibilities and we can give you training and support. We’re looking for a minimum commitment of between 4-6 hours per week.

Social clubs – Be part of our volunteer team supporting cared-for clients at our Adult social clubs.  Add to the rich tapestry of activities by sharing your particular talents such us flower arranging, baking, mind game activities or help by preparing and serving food and drinks.

Community ambassador – We know the best people to work in local communities are those that live nearby and perhaps those who have had direct experience of having to take on an unpaid care role for a friend or family member.

We’re looking for volunteer community ambassador’s who can represent Crossroads Care Surrey and talk to community groups, schools and local business about our work supporting Carers to have respite. This volunteer role is vital to our work as it will help us to grow community spirit and engagement; encouraging people to get involved with our work through fundraising, volunteering or by making a donation.

Volunteer Fundraising – Are you looking to take on a personal challenge?  Why not, run, walk, cycle or skip for Crossroads Care Surrey? Perhaps you could organise a fundraising event like a comedy night, quiz night or even host your own cake and coffee morning in support of our work.
