Being a Trustee

Being a Trustee is very rewarding. As a trustee, you are part of a team and will have the opportunity to apply your unique skills and experience while learning from others.

The clear and obvious benefit to being a trustee is the contribution you will make to a great cause, supporting the work of unpaid carers. An additional advantage for you of taking on a trustee role is the wealth of knowledge gained through strategic experience which can be hard to come by in your day to day paid role.

A trusteeship is a fantastic way of getting a head start, giving you the opportunity to develop and hone your critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills as well as developing vital strategic sensibilities and team working skills. The added value of a trusteeship will enhance your CV, giving you an immediate and powerful impact to progress your career, opening doors to new responsibilities and more senior job prospects.

At Crossroads Care Surrey, we are on the search for new people with relevant and transferrable skills in keys areas including accounting & finance, digital marketing & fundraising, and clinical care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Bi-monthly board meeting and attendance at the Annual General Meeting.
  • Participate in strategic planning & policy decision-making.
  • Support the senior management team, adding value, expert advice; and
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting Crossroads to remain sustainable by getting involved to support the charity’s fundraising strategy.
