Getting started with fundraising

Your fundraising will make a difference to help people who care round the clock to get the support they need to keep caring for longer.

Follow our tips on how to get started with fundraising. Make your event or challenge a memorable and enjoyable success.

You can also download our fundraising leaflet packed full of information to help you start your fundraising.

1. Decide on what you would like to do

Whether you want to take on a marathon, hold a bake sale, dive out of a plane or organise a dress up day, there are endless ways to raise funds for us.

2. Set up an online fundraising page

We recommend setting up your online fundraising page as soon as possible, using either Virgin Money Giving or JustGiving.

This is a simple way to raise funds for Crossroads Care Surrey. You can personalise your page with a story, images and details of your fundraising which can then be easily shared with everyone, and every penny comes directly to us – including Gift Aid!

3. Promote your fundraising

To really make your event a success, it is a great idea to promote it to as many people as possible. So, tell friends and family, advertise it at work, school or on local notice boards in your community and of course, share it on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We want to help too, so make sure you mention us in your posts! You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn – just search for Crossroads Care Surrey

4. Keep in touch

Our marketing & fundraising team can support your fundraising with information, advice and resources to make your event or challenge more successful, so give us a call on 01372 869 970

5. On the day

With all the hard work and planning done, the only thing left is to enjoy the day!

Make sure to take plenty of photos, send them to us and post them on social media – it may help to bring in a few extra donations and our social media team might be able to help by sharing and retweeting them too.

6. Donate the funds

After your fundraising event, there are a number of different ways you can donate what you have raised to Crossroads Care Surrey – find out from our Ways to Donate page
