The aim of the service is to encourage people to remain independent and living in their own home.<\/p>\n<p>Meals are cooked and delivered in our purpose-built vehicles. They are hot and ready to eat.<\/p>\n<p>All meals are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nutritionally balanced<\/li>\n<li>meet the National Association of Care Catering&#8217;s recommended standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our choice-based menu includes a main course and dessert. You can view a\u00a0<a class=\"media-link media-link--pdf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guildford.gov.uk\/media\/18993\/Community-meals-example-menu-card\/pdf\/Promotional_Menu_Card_Mar2015.pdf?m=636062732054030000\"><span class=\"media-link__text\">community meals sample menu card<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"media-link__type\">(PDF)<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"media-link__filesize\">[169KB]<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to see an example of typical options.<\/p>\n<p>Our community meals service is available to borough residents who meet one or more of the following criteria.<\/p>\n<p>The person is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>unable to cook for his\/herself and there is no one else available to do so<\/li>\n<li>not motivated to cook and is in danger of malnutrition<\/li>\n<li>unaware of the time or the need to eat regular meals<\/li>\n<li>unable to shop for his\/her main meal requirements<\/li>\n<li>a carer who would be assisted by meal preparation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cost<\/h2>\n<p>The current cost per meal, including dessert, is \u00a34.60.<\/p>\n<h2>Operating times<\/h2>\n<p>We deliver seven days a week if required (a frozen meal option for Christmas Day).
