DESCRIPTION:Guildford Diocese Hearing Aid Maintenance Clinics \nVolunteers\, trained by the Audiology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital\, provide community-based hearing aid maintenance through Hear Here clinics.\nA visit to your local Hear Here clinic saves travel and connects you with the community. The clinics are offered in cafes\, GP surgeries and libraries as well as churches. Often sessions will be run alongside social events; coffee mornings\, lunches or drop-in groups. \nThe Hear Here volunteers provide FREE maintenance\, including:\n• Check your hearing aid is working\n• Replacing and supplying new free NHS batteries\n• Re-tubing hearing aids\n• Ear mould cleaning\n• Advice and troubleshooting on using your hearing aids\n• Support for new hearing aid users\n• Explaining your hearing aid controls\n• Information and signposting to other services and useful equipment \nOur volunteers are not able to carry out hearing checks\, and cannot maintain in-ear or private hearing aids. \nPlease remember to bring your battery card/ blue book/ or equivalent. \nBefore visiting for the first time\, we advise making contact in case of short notice cancellation.\nYou can call\, text or email the project for more help: 07827 567014\nhearhere@cofeguildford.org.uk

SUMMARY:St Peter’s Hospital Armed Forces and  Veterans Breakfast Club
DESCRIPTION:ASPH are one of the first NHS Trusts to launch a Breakfast Club for serving and non-serving armed forces and their families. \nThe Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club concept is a worldwide initiative set up by a former soldier\, which provides active and retired service men and women with the opportunity to meet up and relax over breakfast. \nAs a veteran aware Trust and holder of the Gold status under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS)\, Ashford and St Peter’s wanted to extend their support to provide a place for serving and retired military personnel and their families to meet once a month over breakfast. \nThe first ASPH Breakfast Club was launched at St Peter’s during Armed Forces Week\, where several military personnel shared stories over breakfast and were introduced to military partners like OpCourage who provide mental wellbeing services for the military. \nThe Breakfast Club is held from 10.00am to 11.30am on the last Friday of every month in the Edu-Kitchen at St Peter’s hospital and there is free parking in the Hazel car park. DESCRIPTION:Hearing not so good?  The Guildford Hard of Hearing Support Group is here to help.  Make friends with others who share the same challenges and take part in events designed to help you overcome them. \nMeetings are held on 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. We will start with lipreading practice\, and after the tea break\, one of our members will talk about his experiences being hard of hearing from an early age. \nPlease bring your own mug to save on the washing up. DESCRIPTION:Guildford Group Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe hold a monthly get together on the last Tuesday of each month\, everyone is welcome to attend. \n\n\n\n\n\nAll members and their partners\, carers\, family members are welcome to attend these monthly social meetings. \n\n\n\nThese meetings are free of charge to attend although the proceeds from our raffle help to cover the cost of the hall hire as well as tea and cake. \nThey allow you to meet new friends\, learn from each other’s experiences and often hear a guest speaker whilst having light refreshments. \nThese meetings are held ‘in person’ on the last Tuesday of the month at Shalford Village Hall\, Kings Road\, Shalford\, Guildford Surrey GU4 8BQ. \nNew members please note that we meet at the Upper Hall\, (by the tennis courts) of Shalford Village Hall\, to arrive from 1.45 pm to start the meeting at 2.00 pm. \n  \nUpcoming meetings\, starting at 2.00 pm\, are: \n29 October – Peter Clutterbuck\, a member of our Branch\, will regale us with tales of his amazing adventures \n26 November – tbc \n3 December – Christmas lunch
