DESCRIPTION:Guildford Diocese Hearing Aid Maintenance Clinics \nVolunteers\, trained by the Audiology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital\, provide community-based hearing aid maintenance through Hear Here clinics.\nA visit to your local Hear Here clinic saves travel and connects you with the community. The clinics are offered in cafes\, GP surgeries and libraries as well as churches. Often sessions will be run alongside social events; coffee mornings\, lunches or drop-in groups. \nThe Hear Here volunteers provide FREE maintenance\, including:\n• Check your hearing aid is working\n• Replacing and supplying new free NHS batteries\n• Re-tubing hearing aids\n• Ear mould cleaning\n• Advice and troubleshooting on using your hearing aids\n• Support for new hearing aid users\n• Explaining your hearing aid controls\n• Information and signposting to other services and useful equipment \nOur volunteers are not able to carry out hearing checks\, and cannot maintain in-ear or private hearing aids. \nPlease remember to bring your battery card/ blue book/ or equivalent. \nBefore visiting for the first time\, we advise making contact in case of short notice cancellation.\nYou can call\, text or email the project for more help: 07827 567014\nhearhere@cofeguildford.org.uk \nPlease call to check the session is running.

DESCRIPTION:Boccia is a disability sport which is similar to bowls and pétanque. SUMMARY:St Peter’s Hospital Armed Forces and  Veterans Breakfast Club
DESCRIPTION:ASPH are one of the first NHS Trusts to launch a Breakfast Club for serving and non-serving armed forces and their families. \nThe Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club concept is a worldwide initiative set up by a former soldier\, which provides active and retired service men and women with the opportunity to meet up and relax over breakfast. \nAs a veteran aware Trust and holder of the Gold status under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS)\, Ashford and St Peter’s wanted to extend their support to provide a place for serving and retired military personnel and their families to meet once a month over breakfast. \nThe first ASPH Breakfast Club was launched at St Peter’s during Armed Forces Week\, where several military personnel shared stories over breakfast and were introduced to military partners like OpCourage who provide mental wellbeing services for the military. \nThe Breakfast Club is held from 10.00am to 11.30am on the last Friday of every month in the Edu-Kitchen at St Peter’s hospital and there is free parking in the Hazel car park. DESCRIPTION:Guildford Diocese Hearing Aid Maintenance Clinics \nVolunteers\, trained by the Audiology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital\, provide community-based hearing aid maintenance through Hear Here clinics.\nA visit to your local Hear Here clinic saves travel and connects you with the community. The clinics are offered in cafes\, GP surgeries and libraries as well as churches. Often sessions will be run alongside social events; coffee mornings\, lunches or drop-in groups. \nThe Hear Here volunteers provide FREE maintenance\, including:\n• Check your hearing aid is working\n• Replacing and supplying new free NHS batteries\n• Re-tubing hearing aids\n• Ear mould cleaning\n• Advice and troubleshooting on using your hearing aids\n• Support for new hearing aid users\n• Explaining your hearing aid controls\n• Information and signposting to other services and useful equipment \nOur volunteers are not able to carry out hearing checks\, and cannot maintain in-ear or private hearing aids. \nPlease remember to bring your battery card/ blue book/ or equivalent. \nBefore visiting for the first time\, we advise making contact in case of short notice cancellation.\nYou can call\, text or email the project for more help: 07827 567014\nhearhere@cofeguildford.org.uk

No need to book\, just drop in. \nCarers’ Hub – Leatherhead\nOur Hubs are ‘drop-in’ locations for Surrey’s carers to visit for advice and support. \nAt the Hub you can meet with Action for Carers’ staff and volunteers. You can get information and advice on your caring role and the support available\, and also enjoy a cuppa and a chat. \nWe often hold events at our Hubs too – such as special information events and support groups. \nLOCATION: The Leatherhead Hub is situated on the Kingston Road and is also accessible via the rear of the building (where you’ll find parking). So if driving\, turn down Aperdele Road\, take the first right and follow the lane all the way around the recreation ground.  \n  \nThe Hubs are ‘drop in’…\nThere’s no need to book\, just come along. DESCRIPTION:A day at one of our groups can be hugely beneficial to people living with dementia\, as well as their carers\, who can take a break knowing their loved one is looked after. \n\n\nOur groups are run by specialists and volunteers who focus on the strengths and abilities of the person with dementia\, to provide activities that will be engaging and suitable for everyone. \nEach group has its own personality\, following our ethos of living well with dementia. Members enjoy a range of activities and socialise in a safe and welcoming environment with trained staff on a 1-4 client ratio. \nA lunch is provided along with drinks and snacks. \nWe understand that people may be reluctant to attend day groups\, so we offer the opportunity to visit and view any of our groups before you decide to join. \nAttendance of the groups is subject to assessment\, at your own home\, to ensure we know as much as possible about our new member; understanding their preferences\, life history and expectations so that their time with us is meaningful. \n  \nClaygate Centre for the Community : Tuesdays\, Wednesdays and Fridays\, 10am to 3pm

The benefits also outweigh the risks for people living with long-term conditions. \nThere’s lots of evidence to show that if we keep moving\, we can reduce our risk of everything from cancer to heart disease\, live independently for longer and boost our mental health to help cope with life’s challenges. \nWhat is Better Balance?\nBetter Balance sessions are designed to improve mobility and confidence and develop core strength and balance. \nBetter Balance sessions are delivered by instructors who are qualified to help participants develop their balance. These sessions are perfect for people who feel unsteady on their feet or are worried about falling. Exercises are adapted to the needs and abilities of older adults. \nMonday 9.45am – 10.45am and 11.00am – 12 noon. \nFriday 10.40am – 11.40am and 11.45am – 12.45pm. \n£6.50 per session for these amazing exercise classes

SUMMARY:Bookham Baptist Church - Community Fridge
DESCRIPTION:Fetcham now has its own community fridge which is available for everyone to use. \nIt’s located at St Mary’s Church Hall\, just off the Ridgeway\, and is open every Monday morning from 10-11 am. \nThe fridge is not a food bank\, as no referral is needed. Instead the fridge team collects food from local shops and supermarkets that would otherwise be wasted and sent to landfill. \nOrganised by the Bookham-based charity The Meeting Place\, the fridge is also open at two other locations at other times during the week. \nIt’s at Bookham Baptist Church on Tuesday mornings from 1115 to 1215; on Friday from 1130 to 1230\, and on Saturday from 1030 to 1200. \nAnd on Tuesday mornings from 1030 to 1130 it is also open at the Grange Centre Bookham.
