Guildford Diocese Hearing Aid Maintenance Clinics
Volunteers, trained by the Audiology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, provide community-based hearing aid maintenance through Hear Here clinics.
A visit to your local Hear Here clinic saves travel and connects you with the community. The clinics are offered in cafes, GP surgeries and libraries as well as churches. Often sessions will be run alongside social events; coffee mornings, lunches or drop-in groups.
The Hear Here volunteers provide FREE maintenance, including:
• Check your hearing aid is working
• Replacing and supplying new free NHS batteries
• Re-tubing hearing aids
• Ear mould cleaning
• Advice and troubleshooting on using your hearing aids
• Support for new hearing aid users
• Explaining your hearing aid controls
• Information and signposting to other services and useful equipment
Our volunteers are not able to carry out hearing checks, and cannot maintain in-ear or private hearing aids.
Please remember to bring your battery card/ blue book/ or equivalent.
Before visiting for the first time, we advise making contact in case of short notice cancellation.
