Crossroads Care Surrey have teamed up with a national Will writing partner, The Goodwill Partnership and have pledged to give away 100 free Wills for local people to benefit. The charity which is based in Leatherhead has a vision where all unpaid carers are supported to live life well so they can keep caring for the ones they love.

Research shows many people put off writing a Will because they believe there is plenty of time to do it in the future, it is too complicated or you need to instruct an expensive solicitor. That is simply not so; the repercussions of not having a Will in place can make dealing with death so much more difficult for loved ones.

Terry Hawkins, CEO of Crossroads Care Surrey says“Our aim is to make writing a Will simple for everyone. Crossroads supports unpaid carers to have all-important time away. For people who care, finding the time to do simple tasks like shopping and banking can be difficult, so we want to make writing a Will as easy as 1,2,3.” He goes on to say, “we’ve teamed up with The Goodwill Partnership who can help you to ensure your wishes are respected. All you need to do is give them a call, book an appointment and they will come and visit you in the comfort of your own home at a time to suit you”

“If you act quickly, you could be one of the lucky first 100, meaning not only is the process simple, but free too. You do not need to leave a gift to Crossroads Care Surrey to get a free Will written, but any gift you do leave towards unpaid carers will help us to continue to provide services to other people who really need our support.”

The charity has pro-actively supported the community throughout the Coronavirus pandemic through the provision of community outreach, befriending phone calls and shopping & prescription collections for all vulnerable or at-risk people who have been shielding or self-isolating to keep safe. Crossroads has supported more than 3,400 people in the last 3-4 months. Now the charity has returned to visiting care in the home, they have pledged to continue to provide vital outreach services locally with an army of volunteer heroes.

With 2 in every 3 people caring in a lifetime, the charity is running this offer as part of growing their legacy income to help more carers waiting for professional care support.
